The
Windham Art Gallery is pleased to reopen its doors, with
a new wood floor (courtesy of a friend of the gallery and
Main Street Millwork of Greenfield, MA), with the 27th High
School Show: Student Art Month, sponsored by
the Arts Council of Windham County. The exhibition will run
Friday, March 2-Sunday, April 1, with an opening reception
on Friday, March 2, 5-8 PM during Gallery Walk. The High School
Show is supported in part by Brattleboro Savings & Loan
Association and Clear Solutions.
This exhibition is a celebration of the creative spirit
of the young artists of The Austine School, Brattleboro Union
High School, Bellows Falls High School , In-Sight Photography,
Leland & Gray Union High School, The Putney School, Twin
Valley High School, Vermont Academy. The works are as
varied as the participants and represent their exploration
in three dimensional work, clay, mixed-media, as well as works
on canvas and paper. Three works per school will be selected
for special commentary by a panel of judges, and four artists
will be selected from the entire exhibition for Best in Show
and will receive a gift certificate for art supplies from Zephyr
Designs or The Framery in Bellows Falls.
